What’s Old, Renewed

Every day’s outing looks more like the Before Times of 2019. Someone smiles, someone buys a bouquet of flowers. Kids tumble upstairs, laughing. I want to be in their happy time, but Reddit’s Popular feed is in my way.

For some perverse reason, when I was a kid at Bible Camp, I’d beg our Camp Counselor to read to us from Revelations. I thought longingly that it sounded so exciting – all those thundering horses, fire, famine (I didn’t know about famine, but it sounded bustling and busy) The bad guys were gonna get theirs, and (us) good guys would win.

2022 has a lot in common with that chapter. Can’t say it’s been the laugh-riot I’d pictured.
